Superintendent Job Description

Oversees all aspects of the planning, implementation, and completion of an electrical project. He is responsible for developing and enforcing budgets, schedules, and production levels to achieve the overall customer requirement. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Maintains compliance with all OSHA, customer safety requirements, company policies and enforces them with the workforce under his/her responsibility.
  • Immediately identifies, corrects, and/or reports any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents.
  • Commands the respect of his workforce and develops excellent working relationship with the Owner, General Contractor, and all trades on the project.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office and competent with technology.
  • Plans, directs and controls the operations of foreman, material managers, and field staff on all electrical projects. The duty is primarily but not limited to managerial
  • Directs team members to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in compliance with the National Electrical Code and Project Documents. Responsible for scheduling work, maintaining materials, and coordinating with other trades to accomplish goals and objectives set forth by the Project Schedule.
  • Ensures that work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment, and materials. Prevents waste and misuse of tools, equipment, and materials. Supervises work crews to best utilize manpower and materials, exercises discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production requirements. Initiates measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of installation.
  • Motivates team members to achieve project goals.
  • Must be a good communicator. Able to give instruction clearly and persuasively to his team members. Capable of representing company interests effectively and professionally in all project meetings. Has to initiate and respond to all written correspondence in a clear and concise manner that accurately conveys thoughts, intentions and objectives.
  • Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports, ordering materials and tools, maintaining accurate job cost, and developing and directing a 3 week look ahead schedule.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to project specifications, the NEC, and company quality requirements.
  • Treats people with respect and inspires trust of others. Should always keep commitments, work with integrity and uphold organizational values. Takes responsibility for his/her team member’s activities and actions.
  • Works without direct supervision.
  • Provides teaching, coaching, and mentoring to all team members assigned to his supervision.
  • Performs evaluations and provides direct feedback to team members assigned to his/her area of responsibility.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

 

Qualifications, Education, Competencies, & Skills

·       Position requires a strong ability in leadership skills and the ability to delegate, set expectations, monitor delegated activities, and provide recognition for results. 

·       Should have a sound knowledge of the current National Electrical Code and must be proficient at reading and following blueprints, electrical schematics, and project specifications. 

·       Individual must demonstrate a focus on safety, quality, customer service, and operate with honesty and integrity. 

·       Must possess a high school diploma or GED. 

·       A minimum of 10 years field experience and 5 years management experience required

·       Person should demonstrate solid planning, organizing, time management, communication and problem-solving skills. 

·       It is essential to be self-driven, reliable, and able to perform all duties and responsibilities under pressure. 

·       Should be capable of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time. 

·       Has to interact on a professional level with all customer representatives, contractors and management assigned to a construction project. 

·       Must complete project profitably and provide a positive experience in customer satisfaction.

Benefits

  • $30-$35/HR depending on experience

    • After one year: One week and three sick days
    • After five years: Two weeks and five sick days
    • After ten years: Three weeks and five sick days

Job Requirements

  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and clean MVR
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Tools required by your position 
  • Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Monday – Friday = 8-10 hours daily
  • Work afterhours/overtime and weekends as needed

Lead Electrician Job Description

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 7 years of experience on commercial jobs; experience in industrial and residential is a plus
  • Must have experience installing panels, running/bending pipe, working off of prints, pulling wire, etc.
  • Must have all basic tools
  • Foreman/Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet)
  • Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds without assistance
  • Able to perform work on uneven surfaces, frequently climb ladders and on/off equipment, and work from various heights
  • Able and willing to walk, stand, bend, and sit for long periods of time
  • Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
  • Willing to follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner

General Duties:

  • Accomplishes hands-on electrical tasks on maintenance and construction projects
  • Performs rough wiring, power distribution wiring, and wiring of electrical equipment, maintenance, and fixtures, and installation of conduit according to the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Advises the Electrician Foreman on job progress and material requirements
  • Accomplishes various projects utilizing design drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams
  • Maintains a safe workplace environment and ensures that safety is the highest priority in the workplace
  • Performs other duties as required

Job: Full-Time

Pay: $18 – 25/hr

Electrician Apprentice/Helper Job Description

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Must be able to run/bend pipe and pull wire
  • Must have all basic tools
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet)
  • Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds without assistance
  • Able to perform work on uneven surfaces, frequently climb ladders and on/off equipment, and work from various heights
  • Able and willing to walk, stand, bend, and sit for long periods of time
  • Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
  • Willing to follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools including, but not limited to, screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, drill, etc.

General Duties:

  • Works in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
  • Follows and comprehends instructions from lead Electrician
  • Assists Electrician with the installation and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment

Job: Full-Time

Pay: $13 – $18/hr
